Mother love 2006

Mother love 2006

I dropped in at Mum’s nursing home room on the way home from work as usual.
I had brought some orchids in pots to replace the ones that had lost their flowers.

It had been a very busy day and I’d yawned all the way there in the car. It was all I could do to keep my eyes open while we chatted. Normally we chat for an hour or two but today I was tired. The room was warm.
Mum said “Why don’t you lie down in my recliner chair and have a nap dear, I’ll read my book.”
So I did. When I opened my eyes half an hour later she was smiling at me. Her book was untouched. She had been watching me sleep.
It is amazing to be loved like that.
